the game has a name
We just submitted a demo of our game for review by a panel of judges. This meant we needed a name, something we’ve put off for years.
After lots of brainstorming, we landed on something simple and descriptive.
We would like to introduce to you to Spectra & Boggs.

making a demo
We’re finally ready to get some eyes on Spectra & Boggs. Scary as it is, the game is looking more presentable than ever, with less and less placeholder art and fewer and fewer bugs.
The pressure of having players witness the game we’ve worked on for over a year has motivated us even more. We’re starting to get out of the summer slide, especially with the game in such good shape and the end nearly in sight.
what’s in a name, anyway
Giving the game an actual name put a few things into perspective for how we might want to present the game, too.
We might have actually put it off for too long, just the act of naming the game sparked a few more ideas on how we’d like to portray our main characters.
games we’re playing (when there’s time)
One of us has dug up their old 2006 Tamagotchi after being inspired and feeling nostalgie on a trip to their hometown.
The other is also having a nostalgia trip, but in 2004 with Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II on the steam deck. The steam deck makes it easy to play for a few minutes here and there before bed, basically.
lock in season
Lots of work ahead, and we’re moving at a pace that works for us (still fully employed at our side-gigs, of course).
See you soon though. We tend to get more done in the cooler months ahead!
