the update

First:

Dear reader, accept our apologies for nearly missing the November update.

Okay.

adding things…

We mentioned last month that a few things were added, like new enemies and features inside our game map.

The ideas kept cooking and now it’s getting pretty close to the final design, we’ve changed things up so that our maps have more variation between runs.

This is important not just for the replayability of the game, but the replaybility of maps within the same game.

There’s also new art or interesting animations being added that we keep playing with.

…and fixing bugs

We also mentioned submitting our game demo to a convention, which was a great experience for us.

However, it also forced us into making a lot of incomplete features “complete” for a demo (good exercise, btw).

Well, that caused a few things to work incorrectly and we’re finally getting around to that.

Specifically, the way our character select screen works.

If you haven’t seen it, it’s functional and kinda looks like this:

Between seasonal work type things and everything else, October/November has proven pretty busy for us. As game dev duo, we’ve started to get used to and enjoy the winter months as a nice time to lock in on things and get work done.
